Stray and feral cats
What does stray cat mean? A stray cat is a cat that used to be owned, it used to live with people in e.g., a house, but for one reason or another it is now living without such relations to humans.
A feral cat has never been owned, it has never lived with people or in a house, i.e., it never lived with such relations to humans. Both stray and feral cats are domestic cats in that they have been bred by humans for thousands of years.

It is funny how some people end up with domesticated indoor-cats who behave as if they are completely feral. 🙂
