The short answer is yes. Kittens are undeniably adorable creatures, captivating our hearts with their playful antics and innocent charm. However, there’s so much more to these tiny felines than meets the eye. From the moment they are born, kittens embark on an incredible journey of growth and development.
While kittens are born with their ears closed, their auditory journey unfolds rapidly as they grow. Around the age of two weeks, their ears begin to open, allowing them to perceive sounds. However, it will take a few more weeks before their hearing becomes clear and sharp. Until then, these tiny creatures navigate their surroundings relying on their other senses, particularly touch and smell. If your kitten does not respond to sounds after 3 weeks, it may have hearing issues.
