When can a Kitten go outside?

Going outside supervised – Potential diseases such as cat flu, enteritis, ringworm et cetera., means that a kitten should not go outside until it has been vaccinated, at about 13-14 weeks of age. 

When can a Kitten go outside Alone?

Going outside unsupervised – The cat needs to be fully vaccinated and neutered/spayed, which translates to that the cat needs to be about 6 months old before venturing outside alone. Also, if the cat has stiches (e.g., after being spayed or neutered) it should be kept inside until the wound has healed, i.e. for about 10 days. When or as long as “outside” is a new environment for the cat – leave a path of retreat, so that the cat can get back inside (e.g., leave the door somewhat open).
